Tapering

Waking from a ten year slumber,
Voices echo in my head.
Where have I kept you all this time
While all I seemed to think was said?
One third down the path to freedom
Suddenly my vision clears,
And I can see the colours brighten
And memories folded into tears.
What poison is this in my system
That made me kneel down and beg for more,
That took away my basic senses,
That pulled the blinds and shut the door?
Days were that I needed the pills
To keep the black mare of my fear
Locked up ten times bound,
To keep the pounds on and conscience clear.
These years since ana took her,
Riding through my imperfections,
She must have grown wise, to the power of complexion.
Three bolts now undone.
